This is an interdisciplinary reader's theater script narrated from a student's perspective. It is designed to be used as a lesson to prepare students to work in collaborative groups and to conduct research that is relevant to them and that connects to the curriculum. Additionally, it promotes teamwork, student-centered learning,and social skills development in an engaging manner. This script is based on current research and references are cited to provide teachers with resource material for further professional development in the inquiry approach. Students not only practice their fluency skills but learn the fundamentals for productive small-group tasks and are encouraged to explore within and beyond the curriculum.
