PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a basic Reader’s Theatre Script for 6 characters following the mythological story of the contest, whose winner took the title of Patron Saint of Athens. It is the tale of Athena and Poseidon as they each had the task of giving a beloved gift to the people of Athens to win the title of Patron Saint. They both wanted to win but in the end it was Athena’s Olive Tree that was chosen and the city was named after her.
These mythological tales are great stories with fabulous characters. This gives students an opportunity to dabble in the genre of mythology while also practicing in expression, creativity, knowledge of subject, and working together in a group. It is a great project alone or coupled with other similar scripts that the class can share with each other or other classrooms.
