This is a basic Reader’s Theatre Script for 6 characters following the mythological story of King Midas and his golden touch. It depicts the basic myth of how King Midas, a kind heart with too much greed, can get distracted by his love of gold and be blinded to the true nature and love within his heart. It tells of Dionysus and the valuable lesson he taught King Midas thorough the granting of a wish.
These mythological tales are great stories with fabulous characters. This script could also easily be edited for more students if the narrator parts were broken up into more readers. This gives students an opportunity to dabble in the genre of mythology while also practicing expression, creativity, knowledge of subject, and working together in a group. It is a great project alone or coupled with other similar scripts (check out more Mythology scripts on my store page!) that the class can share with each other or other classrooms.
Enjoy this fun Reader’s Theatre and Have a great time Creatively Learning!!
