For those of us who use reader's workshop, conferencing with students is highly important yet often hard to manage when it comes to record keeping. I searched the web before I gave up and created my own student conference record. It is a quick and easy check mark system that records the date, what the student is reading, and what point they are at. It is two pages, which I run front and back, and is designed to work with the 100 Points Reading Project that is posted on this site for free by another teacher. The second page can be left off if the project is not something you want to use in your classroom. I run a copy for each student and keep a binder in my classroom. It has made management a breeze.
