This resource is a supplemental resource that allows students to practice Reading skills and strategies. The resource is “Boot Camp” themed and has students doing “drills.” There are 6 drills that the students will rotate around the room to. At each drill, the students will complete a step in order to answer multiple choice questions. After each step, they will do the paired exercise. For example, drill 1 requires the students to look over the text and identify any text features. After they do that they walk the “ropes course.” This is just balancing on a rope laid out in the room.
This resource DOES NOT includes texts or questions. However, it can be paired with any text or question set.
The texts I used were from Readworks (free website) and have already paired questions. I used the text, “Army Dad.”
I also pulled from NYengage practice tests and TN state practice tests. Pull whatever texts your students need more practice on. I would suggest pairing 3-5 questions with the text.
