This is a great tool to use with students to demonstrate how get their brain “ready to read”. I wanted to show them how when you read, your brain needs to be actually DOING something, not just reading the words (although that part is important as well).
This unit includes two different sets of thought bubbles to glue to popsicle sticks that can then be velcroed to your brain hat. Directions on how to create your own Brain Thinking Hat are included, and more detailed information can be found on my blog at http://thebookfairygoddess.blogspot.com/2013/10/reading-brain-hat.html
Included in this unit are thought bubbles for:
Set 1: Predict, Setting, Characters Events, Problem, Solution, This Reminds Me Of...
Set 2: Predict, Visualize, Question, Sequence, Connect, Summarize, Evaluate
It also includes a student Brain Thinking Map for both sets as well as a bookmark to give to students for review.
