Reading CVC Words

Helping to develop your student's phonological awareness is an important skill required to be a reader. When our students sound out words, they slowly say each sound in a word (c-a-t), and then say the sounds quickly together to "read" the word (cat). This ability to blend ( combine the sounds), and segment (isolate sounds) are skills that are so important when learning to read. This video offers an opportunity for children do both. You can use the video with or without sound. The best part you can have the children use this in a whole group or individually at a center.
