Learning should be fun! This is a wonderful center for students. It gives them the opportunity to move a little bit, but also gets them to read carefully. Think of charades with an academic element.
Instructions for use:
Make a copy of one of the pages on cardstock. Cut the sentence strips apart and place them in a pile upside down in the middle of the group. A student flips over three of the strips and leaves them out for the group to read silently. No one is allowed to talk during the game. The same student mentally picks one of the strips without indicating their selection to the group. The student must then act out the strip silently. When one of the others thinks he or she has figured out the correct sentence, they raise a hand. The acting student calls on the other. He or she reads the strip out loud to the group and the actor confirms or denies the guess. The game continues until all the strips have been acted out.
