MORE DETAILS

How can I use this activity?

Use the included challenges list as a choice board, a tic-tac-toe board, or a BINGO board. It's editable, which means students can have fun and use their voices to help you adapt the challenges on the board as the year goes on.

How long does it take?

Assign these reading challenge activities as often as it makes sense in your curriculum. For example, use with monthly book clubs or have them coincide with quarters, trimesters, or semesters. The time frame can be flexible, but you'd probably want to give students at least a month to make progress.

Tips for making it work?

For the ultimate experience, make these reading challenges a regular discussion point both with the whole class and during individual student conferences.

This reading challenges board can be used in conjunction with other reader's workshop style tracking tools, like a reading ladder.
