This is a fun bingo game where students can practice their reading skills. All the students will read the same article and then have to answer questions from a bingo sheet to try and complete a bingo line or a bingo design that the teacher sets. There are a total of 7 different fictional reading passages. The titles of the readings are:
“A Day in the Life of Antonio”
"Dog with an Attitude"
"The Lost Treasure"
"Long Lost Friend"
“The Red Genie Lamp”
The bingo sheets include 24 different questions from the reading. All of the questions are short answer questions using the question words like: Who, what, when, where, how much, etc. The bingo sheets are all the same in the same order but the student can decide which questions to answer first. For example, one student might try to solve a vertical bingo line while another student is trying to solve a diagonal bingo line. This is a great activity for students to practice their reading skills and then looking back to the passage for specific information.
You can do this Bingo game in class as a competition game or you could assign it as homework to complete. I have included the original Word document in case you want to change any of the questions or reorder the questions so that there are different bingo sheets. I have also included the pages in a PDF format as well as an answer key and specific instructions how to best play the game.
Thank you for reading and please let me know if you have any questions.
