This product is very versatile and multipurpose. The reading bookmarks have comprehension questions based on reading strategies: drawing inferences, predicting, asking questions, connecting, summarizing, visualizing, and determining importance. One reading strategy can be taught each month for reading workshop. For example, if Predicting is taught in August/September, the questions on the bookmarks can be used for teacher modeling think-alouds, the purpose for independent student reading, written journal responses for comprehension, homework assignments/reading logs, pop quiz questions, and so much more. Teach each reading strategy month by month by modeling the questions written on the bookmarks explicitly. Model how to respond to each question verbally and in written form. Then teach Asking Questions, Making Connections, etc. in the same format.
