Reading Comprehension Bundle Animal of the Week

This bundle of Reading Comprehension Animal of the Week sets are designed to provide students with reading comprehension passages and handwriting practice to build student literacy skills. This resource is differentiated and includes and engaging topic that integrates well into any theme or unit throughout the year.

These sets can be used whole class, independently or as a center. This is an ideal resource for home learning where there may be different ages of children.

Each Animal of the Week set includes 1 animal for each week (4 per month) that you might normally think about or see during that month of the year. This makes it the perfect literacy set to augment your Science or seasonal units.

Take a look at each individual set to see the animals included.

Each set has 3 different types of printing sheets with sentences that tell about the animal.

• Beginning readers and writers will practice their printing.

• Early readers and writers will practice reading and writing a few simple sentences.

• More advanced or older students will use NON-FICTION books about each animal to find vocabulary and facts. (This one can be adapted by the teacher by providing the vocabulary.)

Also included:

1. 2 different printables that ask some reading comprehension questions about each animal using 2 different formats: True or False and Circle the Correct answer. Teachers can use whichever one best suits the learner.
2. Each animal also has a diagram of body parts of the animal: one has the parts labelled, and one does not. Easily adaptable for different learners.

Please note: There are no real photos of the animals inside this pack to save printer ink. Clip art only.
