When looking for a fun parent resource for practicing reading comprehension at home, I came across the idea of using cootie catchers online. I decided to make a few different cootie catchers for fiction, nonfiction and a generic one that can be used with any text. Kids love making and playing with cootie catchers, so why not tie it into reading? I got the template for this cootie catcher at https://downloadablecootiecatchers.wordpress.com.
You could use these as an in-class activity after reading a ficion or nonfiction text, make it a center and have students record their answers, or send it home as a parent resource.
I hope your kids have fun using these!
