This packet has mini short stories with some fiction and some non-fiction stories. The stories begin with cvc words and beginning sight words and only 3 comprehension questions and grows to add long vowels and some suffixes. There are back to school, family and friends, apples, plants and bats themes.
This packet can be used in different ways depending on whether your students are emergent, early or more independent readers. Examples:
1) Orally and Whole Class - the teacher reads the story out loud to the class. The students answer orally while the teacher writes the answers. Teacher can then have the students write the sentences and reread. By beginning this way teachers can model complete sentences by orally and written.
2) Independent: students read and answer questions in complete sentences in small groups or whole class. The teacher can correct herself or then correct whole class with students to help them fix any errors.
