Using Bloom's Taxonomy and Gardiner's Multiple Intelligence theory, I have developed a range of open ended activities that can be used with any fiction or non-fiction text.
I give my students the grid to work from when we start a unit of work, and allow them to have the freedom to choose which activities they want to complete. This forms only one part of my
I use the grid mainly with fictional text, both picture and novel style. I have also included the Learning Contract a I use to track my students progress and the assessment rubric was created with my students to show them what level of work I expected.
There are two versions of the grid, the first does not have point system attached, meaning that all activities are worth the same amount. The second version does have a point system, and is the one I prefer to use.
