You will find 20 different reading comprehension activities in this pack.
These are a DRA 12-16 or Guided Reading G-I
I used this pack along with my larger pack to get my students used to reading and locating the answers to questions by re-reading. Having my students highlight their answers has really increased their comprehension.
I have started increasing my non-fiction for my higher readers.
I laminate the full color reading passage first and have them complete the answer sheet with me at my guided reading table. I have five different passages for animals, so each child has a different passage to read. This way, I know what that specific child is reading and may need help with. This eliminates the "wait and read - reader" where your child who isn't sure waits and listens to someone, then decides to recite the child next to him reading and you aren't sure if they don't know.
The next time they come to the table, they read it for fluency. The third time they sit, they read the next non-fiction package. This allows five stories to last 10 or more days.
I tried to pick topics that are not generally covered such as presidents.
4 famous people
5 interesting places
The Empire State Building
7 interesting animals
Frogs and Toads
Lions and Tigers
Hippos and Rhinos
4 random items
They take a crayon and color 1 red, 2 orange, 3 yellow, 4 green.
I hope you enjoy this pack and leave feedback -
I may add more as time goes on as my students are able to handle more. Please let me know if you would like something added
