There are two printable texts with worksheets to teach reading strategies and comprehension skills for Elementary students. These are paired texts, meaning the passages share the same topic, Mt Fuji, however one passage is fictional and the second is non-fiction or informational. The fiction is a traditional Japanese legend called "The Bamboo Princess."
The worksheets encourage students to think and dig deeply into the texts and meaning with tasks on:
* answering questions
* fact and opinion
* comparing and contrasting
* cause and effect
* connections (this reminds me of ...)
* writing tasks
* letter from a character
* art, craft design tasks
I've supported the factual text with 5 QR codes (SafeShare) with footage of scenery, information on volcanoes, experiences of two kids who climbed the mountain)
This is part of my NEW series called TAKE TWO, that has similar texts on other famous landforms from around the world.
It is part of this BUNDLE if you like the concept and want to save money.
