Description
Integrated Literacy provides students the opportunity to practice and strengthen their literacy skills while they are learning across the curriculum. I have created a resource of 5 original reading passages that encompass the areas of science, reading, writing, social studies, and comprehension. There are different versions of each passage to allow for differentiation. The topics are Fall-inspired, but definitely not limited to this season.
Children love science! Science-based reading activities add a sense of wonder and curiosity to student learning. Incorporate social studies and viola, you have higher interest topics. These science and social studies-themed passages are a wonderful way to promote and support that natural sense of curiosity while providing a wonderful opportunity to strengthen reading for comprehension and reading comprehension skills.
This resource includes:
•5 original reading passages
•Comprehension questions and/or an activity per passage. .
•A Season of Change
•The Fall Harvest
•School Days- 2 versions to allow for differentiation
•Scaring the Crows- 2 versions to allow for differentiation
•Words to Know- word study sheet- Can be used for any of the passages

•Bats: Can…Are…Have Chart
•Batty for Bats: Bats versus Birds Chart
