What's different about this resource?
"Bubbles" rather than crayons are used to indicate which color to underline or highlight. This is perfect for older, struggling readers to feel more mature and comfortable using these pages.
You can print a colored set or an ink-saving black and white set of passages.
How to use the PRINTABLE set: Students read the passage at least once before beginning the questions. Each question has a colored bubble in front of it (the black and white versions have a bubble with a color word written inside). Students will look back in the reading, locate the answer, and underline it using the color designated by the bubble. That’s how they show text evidence and prove their answers.
The PRINTABLE set includes:
- 9 Nonfiction text passages (in both color and black and white)
- A summary page to use as an exit ticket or quick quiz.
- Fact summary page (Are/Have/Can) for students to organize and write their own thoughts about woodland animals, their characteristics, and what they can do.
- Fact and opinion worksheet for students to write their own facts and opinions
- Answer keys
How to use the DIGITAL set: Students read the passage at least once before beginning the questions. Each question has a colored bubble in front of it. Students will look back in the reading, locate the answer, and cover it with the designated color's drag and drop highlighting strip.
The DIGITAL set includes:
- 9 Nonfiction text passages
- Fact summary page (Are/Have/Can) for students to organize and write their own thoughts about woodland animals.
- Fact and opinion worksheet for students to write their own facts and opinions
