Product Description
In just two months, over 750 buyers on TpT have downloaded my "freebie" Skill Sheet for Main Ideas and Supporting Details. Thanks, everyone! If you liked that freebie, here is the complete set of Reading Comprehension Skill Sheets! If you haven't already downloaded the freebie, feel free to do so before purchasing this entire bundle.

This bundle of 10 Skills sheets include the following reading comprehension skills:
*** Compare and Contrast
*** Drawing Conclusions and Making Inferences
*** Fact and Opinion
*** Literary Elements
*** Main Ideas and Supporting Details
*** Sequence
*** Fluency
*** Cause and Effect
*** Author's Purpose

Each skill sheet includes the following components:
* Essential Question for that skill
* Definition of the skill (what exactly IS it?)
* A graphic organizer students should associate with that skill
* Vocabulary words connected to the skill
* Signal Words students will encounter in books/texts that give
them a "clue" as to the comprehension skill

I have used these skill sheets in various ways in my years as a Title I teacher, and across all grades 1-5. They can be copied and placed in a folder for each student. EVERY TIME we focused on that particular skill, we referred back to the skill sheet for it. That consistent and pervasive review helped students truly "own" the skill. I also took these skill sheets to my local office supply store (Staples) and had them enlarge them into posters. For less than $2.00 they enlarged them onto poster-sized print paper. I then used adhesive glue and adhered them to a poster board (Dollar Store!). For just a few bucks, I also had these hanging throughout my classroom for constant reference. Hang them on the walls, bulletin boards, from ceiling, or from mini blinds!
