Print these cards out 10 at a time along with an answer sheet and you have an instant center! Mix & match from each set if you’d like. Students will love being able to walk around the room looking for the next item to work on and record on their answer sheets.
Pick and choose which 10 cards you’d like to use. Print them, (print in color and laminate them for the best look) hang them up around your room, and give your students a clipboard and an answer recording sheet.
This adds some movement to a reading comprehension activity and it gets the students excited about learning!
After trying this out in my classroom I added a second answer sheet. Some of my students could finish all 10 questions during their center time, while others could only finish 5. I made an answer sheet for 1-5 and then 6-10 for students that may have to spread this activity out over two days, or can only get 5 done in the allotted time. This way they won’t see all the blank spaces reminding them that they didn’t finish. My students that only finished 5 problems got them all correct, it just took them bit longer to read and write down their answers.
Great for differentiating!
Students will work on skills like:
Main Idea, Prefixes and Suffixes, Cause and Effect, Inferences, Synonyms and Antonyms, Spelling, Writing, Sequence of Events, Classify and Categorize, Compare and Contrast, Fact and Opinion, Predicting, Parts of Speech, Reality and Fantasy, Spelling, and Compound Words.
There are 7 sets of 10. (70 Cards total)
Answer key included.
Have fun learning!- Naomi
