Reading with Post Its.
Great way to use Post its with reading skills and strategies.
Included: Summarizing, Citing Evidence, Predicting, Main Idea, Details, Cause and Effect, Personal Connections, Connections to the world, Text to Text connections,Setting, Problem, Solution,Author's Point of View and Characterization. Example of How It Is Used: Summarizing: I start off by reading a portion of the text aloud as students read along. Then, I ask them to write a compound sentence retelling the most important part/event from what we read, on their post it. We do this throughout the story and then put all of our post its together and write the summary in the middle. Many of the stories, require us to use two summarizing sheets. I find that most students are unable to write a proper summary without a lot of practice with these post it printables!
