PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

These are small anchor charts that can be used by students when they are doing independent reading (read to self), buddy reading (read to someone), or really anytime that they are reading. Whenever I teach one of these comprehension skills in my class I give the students the anchor chart that matches the skill taught. You can have them keep them on a ring, or I had mine just keep them in a zip lock bag in their independent reading book boxes. You can create a chart with the students on chart paper, or put one of these cards under a document camera for them to see. It is also a good resource that you can send home with the students so that their parents know what they have been working on in class and can practice the same skills with them when reading at home.

My students used these cards every day to refer to when working on their independent reading. I would ask them to pull out the card showing what skill they were working on as they read that day and it really helped to keep them focused on the skill. Anytime that I didn't give my students a card after teaching a new comprehension skill they would bug me about it until I made it. Way to go students for keeping me on track. :)
