Reading experts advise teaching the QAR strategy to boost comprehension. QAR stands for “question-answer relationship”. This strategy focuses on teaching students that different questions involve different thinking.
Through the use of this strategy students will be encouraged to think more deeply about the question before attempting to answer it. When students begin to analyze comprehension questions they are more successful in answering them.
This set includes student printables to be used in a reading journal and larger sized printables that can be utilized to make a classroom poster.
