This resource includes 20 reading passages/ELA activities in both task card and worksheet format. This packet is aimed at grades 3-5, but please make sure that the reading level is appropriate for your students prior to purchasing.
This resource is a collection of a variety of texts and skills to engage students with diverse interests, learning styles, and abilities. It also exposes them to different genres. The nonfiction texts are based on content areas of math, social studies, and science. Each story includes five multiple-choice questions for students to answer after reading the text orally or independently. These questions focus on targeted objectives found on standardized assessments: main idea, cause and effect, sequencing, predicting outcomes, making inferences, drawing conclusions, and context clues.
Colored graphics are included on the cards, however, you can either print them out in grayscale or use the worksheets in this packet because the passages and questions are identical. The only difference between the cards and the worksheets is that the worksheet includes a section for the students to illustrate what they visualized as they read the text.
