This reading comprehension resource provides a strategy for identifying topic, main idea, and details in non-fiction paragraphs and articles. Students can use the strategy to help improve their reading comprehension with non-fiction text.

Assign the short reading comprehension passages as bell ringers, add them to the end of a language arts assessment, or assign as homework a few days a week to improve comprehension. The brief reading passages provide great practice for close reading and standardized tests.
