A thinkmark is used as an interactive bookmark. It can be used for many purposes such as exit slips or summative assessments. You will find thinkmarks for the following strategies:
cause and effect
checking for understanding
Just copy the thinkmarks (white or colored paper), explain to the students the expectation, and have them complete the thinkmarks. These bookmarks are a great way to get a snapshot of what your students are learning as they read to self while checking to see if they grasped what they learned in class.
These can be kept all year and handed to students at the end of the year so they can see their progress. Or you can keep them to show parents at conferences.
