A habitat is the natural home or environment in which an animal, plant, or other type of organism lives. A creature’s habitat can determine access to food, water, and shelter. Although plants have various habitats, this passage will focus on the types of animals found in each habitat and how the environment can affect the daily lives of these animals. There are twelve separate habitats that will be described.
