My mother and father both work while I am at school, but my mother gets home at the same time I do. However, if she is not home when I get there I have my own special key. I know the rules. I am supposed to go inside, lock the door, and if I want, fix a snack in the microwave. My mother has never been more than fifteen later then me in getting home. Last Thursday was one of those days when Mum was running a bit late. I found my key and opened the door. I was starving after a long day at school so I started rummaging through the cabinets before I started my homework. I knew Mum would not mind if I had something sweet as long as it was small. That is when I remembered the left-overs from our weekend cook out.
