Suggested Directions for Use in Small Groups:
Informational Passage: Have students read the passage out loud.
Blank Vocabulary Definition Page: Based off of context clues/instructor support, have students fill out vocabulary page with self-generated definitions for terms.
Vocabulary Matching Page: Use to reinforce vocabulary definitions. Students can utilize their self-generated definitions to aid them in using the provided definitions to match vocabulary words and definitions.
Reading Comprehension Questions: Have students answer questions pertaining to the informational text. Some questions can be answered by directly referring back to the text, while others require critical thinking to generate an accurate response.
Vocabulary Fill in the Blank Page: Have students utilize the words from the word bank to complete sentences by filling in the blank with the appropriate vocabulary word. This activity supports functional use/recognition of vocabulary words and provides additional review.
