This is a 2.5-page short biography of a current (living) person, which is designed to help students develop reading comprehension skills. The biography is original (my writing but using a pen name), and contemporary taking place in today's setting. The title is "Nigel Lythgoe: A Dancer Who Brought Entertainment to the Nation". The narrator uses third-person to introduce this TV producer of "American Idol" and "So You Think You Can Dance", which are two popular shows with a younger audience target (students should recognize these names). Nigel began dancing at the age of 10, performed with excellent professional dancers, and moved from the UK to the US to continue his entertainment career. He has won Queen Elizabeth's award given to those outstanding persons whom have made an impact for the general public. There are 20 multiple choice questions including voice, setting, etc. (so students need to know some literature terms, or teach them as you go). Answers with brief explanations are also included. This is story #4 of a series of 5 pieces intended for reading comprehension.
