The Reading Concerns Checklist for 1st grade is designed to help teachers and parents team together to identify which reading skills a child may have trouble mastering. It contains both a Teacher & Parent checklist, preceding skills taught in Kindergarten, Concepts & Procedures / Instructions and a Score sheet. It also contains a sample checklist and sample score sheet to show how to fill out the checklist and score it. It can give teachers valuable information to share with other teachers, Specialists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Educational Therapists or School Psychologists. This information can be key in determining interventions or when choosing assessment tools. It can also be used to show growth during interventions. It aligns with the Common Core State Standards for Reading in First Grade.
