I am a middle school teacher and I have my students for 48 minutes each day—not a lot.
I’ve tried a few different ways of organizing my conference notes. This is my current way of organizing it all. I’m hoping that can be a help to you.
The first page is for general information.
The second page is for notes and I will add more after I’ve had three conferences with the student. I’ve kept it simple. For me, this works better than boxes to mark off and fill in . It keeps me from spending my fifteen minutes scribbling away instead of actually listening and speaking with students.
Behind that I keep other information, like a copy of their reading survey and copies of the fluencies.
