This is the perfect tool to enhance your student’s ability to read for meaning. After your students have a foundation of sight words and phonics they are ready to start using the Reading Cues. These cues will help them self-monitor and read for meaning. The teacher will begin modeling these prompt cues and eventually the students will be able to use the cues independently. When a child is reading, model one of the cues. If what they just read doesn’t make sense, sound right or look right have the child reread until it does! These cues are simple and effective!
