Students can get more involved and hands-on with reading by completing Reading Fair Projects! My students complete 1 each quarter. This gives the student ample time to choose an interesting book, read, complete the project, and practice their presentation. In this bundle I have added an example of the family letter I send home to parents and display on my website. I include the instructions as well as the due dates of each project for the year. This stays in a clear protected sleeve in the student's folder all year. Each quarter I have students choose which genre of book they would like, and which project they would like to do (I do not like to give them all the same type of project because on presentation day it gets boring when everyone brings the same project). When the students choose the type of project they would like, they receive their rubric which also stays in a clear protective sleeve in their folder. They refer to this rubric to create their project, then turn it in on presentation day, where I use it to give them a grade. The students have a lot of fun with this and love to complete these projects. I look forward to adding other types of rubrics in the future.
If you need to make changes to rubrics, I can email you the editable version in a Word Document after your purchase, so that you can use the basic shell and change pieces to better fit the needs of your classroom.
If you have another project idea in mind, let me know and I can add it to the bundle :)
