Reading fluency clip cards allow children to practice reading out loud smoothly and close to the manner of speaking. This set is designed for ADVANCED first graders that can handle reading complex sentence structures. They can be used with second graders as well. Use them during students’ independent literacy center time. The sentences are in a fill in the blank or Cloze format. There are 100 clip cards! 100 clip cards that will print with black ink. There are also an identical set of 100 clip cards that print with color ink.
Four clip cards print on one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Each card is approximately 4 x 5 inches. The sentences include pictures to support the text. There are three words shown on the right side of the cards. Students use clothespins to clip the cards at the location of the correct word choice.
Educational clip cards are quick and easy to make. They are excellent learning centers for students. They become self-checking when the appropriate answers are marked on the backs of the cards. Use a highlighter or small stickers to do that. Their preparation is minimal and requires just a few supplies which include cardstock paper, clothespins, scissors, and access to a printer with black ink!
