Let students graph their own reading fluency progress using these fluency graphs. When students self-monitor their own learning, learning becomes more meaningful.
The reading graph allows students to set a beginning reading goal for themselves in the first column. Each time you progress monitor your students (twice a month), they will color in how many words they read on the graph. Prior to reading, students can look at their previous score and try to beat that score. I hang these on the wall in my classroom for easy retrieval and for a nice visual of their progress.
