Product Description
Use this resource to provide your students with opportunities to read with expression and to respond to the punctuation within a text. The focus in this resource is periods, commas, question marks, and exclamation points. CCSS. RF 1.1 “Demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print.” Students will recognize and respond to punctuation [commas, periods, question marks] while reading.

Included you will find 3 different student texts/booklet, about being a friend and friendship, of increasing difficulties; one for those reading at a 1.0 reading level, one for those at a 1.3 reading level, and one for those students reading at 1.5 and above. You'll also find 96 different sentence strips that increase in difficulty. These sentence strips will provide your students with extra practice that might be used as a center, for partner work, as homework, or other methods that might suit your needs. Additionally, you'll find an explanation and suggestions, and a sample anchor chart.

If you use IRLA, this resource suits the needs of those students reading at a 2G, 1B, and 2B level. If you use Fountas & Pinnell, this resource suits the needs of those reading at levels D, E, and F.
