A great way to display reading goals in your classroom. Each reading goal uses I statements and is written in student friendly language. The goals can be easily changed as students master a skill or as you focus. You could also make a permanent display of some of the goals. Suggestions on how to use the chart and display it are included.

The non-editable file contains:
Reading Goals for a number skills and reading responses.
Restate part of the ?, because, make a connection, cite your evidence, make an inference, point of view, use your schema, restate the answer, summarize, text features, variety of texts, fluency, decoding words, understanding new words, before/after/during reading strategies, checking understanding, purpose and theme.
The editable file contains:
*2 Reading Goal pages with blackboard background and turquoise frame
*2 Reading Goal pages with blackboard background and pink frame
*2 Reading Goal pages with blackboard background and yellow frame
*4 Reading Goal pages with a white frame – I plan to use these to type up checklists for assignments and have included a sample
*2 Reading Goals page with title but no background (I included 2 samples of what I will use these for)
*2 pages with Individual Reading Goal frames – I plan to use this to write individual goals for students and have them paste them in their reading notebook with their assignment
*2 pages to make Reading Goal Bookmarks (I included samples)
*2 pages for Individual Reading Feedback using the 2 Stars and a Wish format
*2 pages for recording observations and assessment
