These 10 questions of varying difficulty are from the Don't Know Much About History section titled "Why Were the Rosenbergs Executed for Espionage?" This can be an intro or wrap up activity, or for when you have a sub. Students can read the section from DKMAH (actual text not included for copyright purposes) and answer the questions in this handout. The answers are included.
Sample questions include:
-What were the Rosenbergs tried with and when?
-Inferring from the text or your prior knowledge, what does that amendment say?
-Infer from the text and your prior knowledge, what impact did it have on the Rosenberg’s trial that it
happened during the Korean War?
-Soviet documents regarding this trial and execution were released in the 1990s. Discuss what information was in those papers. You must mention at least 4 things.
