I created this resource to have meaningful reading homework that is common core aligned and rigorous right at my finger tips.
This resource is a bundle of all 9 sets of my common core weekly reading homework reviews for 4th and 5th grade common core standards.
The resources included in this bundle are meant to be a weekly review of the 4th and 5th Grade Common Core Reading Informational and Literature Standards. The sets can be used for homework, morning work, or classwork.
This bundle includes the following sets (Click to view each one):
The sets are numbered but that was mainly for my organization, they can be used in any order that you want and for any capacity. Some of them would even work for assessments.
Each set contains 4 texts written specifically for the standards addressed.
The sets also contain a variety of daily assignments to complete with the same text, giving the students a close read of the text. The daily assignments (Monday through Wednesday) are open ended and require the students to really think about and analyze the text.
In addition to the daily assignments, each set also includes Thursday comprehension questions which are text dependent and great for test prep review. Most of the Thursday comprehension questions are short answer but a few are multiple choice.
One text will last an entire week following this format. However, you can use the passages and comprehension questions in whatever capacity works for you.
Check out the preview to see an example week from the Main Idea and Summarizing Set. Note that this week does include more multiple choice questions than usual for the Thursday work. The vast majority of the Thursday comprehension questions are NOT multiple choice.
