This is a great resource to hold your kids accountable for reading at home. These simple activities are generic and can be used with any books, chapters, or passages. The kids are to read at least 20 minutes at home for 5 nights. Each time they read, they complete one of the activities. Activities include: "I remember" where students draw and tell about what they remember from their reading, "I Wonder" where students generate questions beginning with 5W's & H about their reading, "Wonderful Words" where students choose 5 important words from their reading and explain why they chose each word, "If I Were the Author" where students tell what they would change if they were the author, and "I See" where students sketch and tell about what they visualized while they were reading. These are all great activities to help the students what they are reading at home. It is also great to help student reach their AR goals. This also includes a letter/contract that explains the homework expectations which requires the student's and parents signatures. This is a great resource that you can use throughout the year to keep your kiddos reading and comprehending!
