Description

Are your students struggling with comprehension during their independent reading time? Do they have a pattern of taking reading quizzes and failing? Are they lacking motivation to approach each book they choose with care in regards to comprehension being first and foremost? This reading incentive resource focuses on reading comprehension goal setting and tracking that is EASY for you and students to manage, and makes success more attainable for EVERY student. Students’ achievement is based on choosing good fit books (or books in their level), understanding the texts as they read, and demonstrating their understanding through reading quizzes, whether it be AR, Read N’ Quiz, or other reading quiz platforms you use to monitor independent reading comprehension.

Not only is there flexibility in creating a reward system that works for you (because each theme is editable), each theme continues to motivate students as they strive to level up each time since the rewards build upon each other.

As you use this unique program, you will notice students gain that “can do” attitude we all hope to instill in every student. Rather than setting goals using ‘points,’ students understand that EVERY reading quiz matters! And more importantly, they are focused on improving their comprehension!

This resource includes a teachers guide that explains how this reward program works, as well as all the necessary tools for implementing this unique system.

Editable Themes include:

  • Build a Pizza Party
  • Build an Ice Cream Party
  • Build a Gaming Party
  • Build a Movie Party
  • Ribbons On a Trophy Theme (which allows you to create your own reward system)

Each reward theme includes:

  • A rewards chart that already sets the rewards for each level
  • Editable rewards charts (5 Levels and 10 Levels) based on your students' needs
  • Student incentive sheets (students add badges to these incentive sheets to keep track of their accomplished levels)
  • Badges
  • Editable class roster for teachers to record each students level as it is accomplished.

Thank you for this feedback, Sandy. I’m currently adding to this resource as of yesterday. I’ve had to make modifications for some of my students last year and I wanted to include them in this resource so other teachers could use reach all students’ needs as well.
