**Please note that there are more interactive notebook templates to offer you a variety of ways to have the students apply the skill to their own texts.***
The resources included are flexible to meet your needs. However, here are some suggestions for how to best these resources.
Option 1: Organize your reading notebook by skills. I recommend having the students use a simple table of contents or you can find one for free on my blog here to keep track of the skills and page numbers.
If you use this option, I recommend using the resource in this order:
1.) Introduce the skill with the anchor chart and sample text on the anchor chart.
2.) Practice the skill using the text and questions from the interactive notebook resource.
3.) Have the students apply the skill to a new text that you give them or that they choose using the response templates in the interactive notebooks.
Option 2: Divide your notebooks into two main sections: mini-lessons and reader's response. Use the anchor charts and texts from the INB for the mini-lesson section and the response templates in the reader's response section. You can see this in more detail by clicking here.
