Serves an anchor and reference and examples for standards
Every unit has:
Notebook cover to be personalized
I can statement for each standard to glue on notebook page
Information, images, and examples for each notebook page
Photos of each page of the notebook so you know what it should look like
Instructions for how to put the “folds and flaps” together
Each student will need:
Either a composition notebook, a spiral notebook, or a 3-ring binder
Crayons and/or markers
Copies of each page
Where appropriate I have included multiple copies of an image on a single page to reduce photocopying.
Cut along the border and it will be the perfect page to glue into a spiral notebook.
If you want to use with an composition notebook, just copy it at 85%
Don't print the images with red borders. They are examples with texts for the teacher.
Advantages of each notebook type
Composition notebook pages don’t easily fall out
Spiral notebook can tear out pages easily
3-ring binder can remove, submit, and put back in
They can also be photocopied individually as handouts or photocopied and displayed on bulletin boards
Generalizable steps for use
1. intro and anchor the standard
2. expand on understanding of standard
3. exemplify standard
