Getting to know your students as readers is one of the most important jobs we have as teachers! Understanding what genres they enjoy, what authors are their favorite, and what type of reading they enjoy (independently, partner etc.) are just some of the important questions we need to ask our students. I always give a READING INTEREST SURVEY at the beginning of the year, but recently I have realized the need to give it multiple times throughout the year. It helps me track students reading interests, and see how they’ve changed over the course of the year. I created this READING INTEREST SURVEY in a digital format so I could get my results instantly, and be able to analyze the data right away. Deeply understanding your students as readers is a critical part of the process, and this form will make it so easy to gather that information in a well organized way!
