Do you have some struggling readers in grades 1-3 and need to monitor their progress on specific skills, but can't track down the resources you need? This unit will help you track their progress on the skills they need additional assistance with. If you need to closely monitor a student for the intervention team process then this unit will help you gather some concrete data to present to the team.
Included with this unit are student practice cards that can be cut out and laminated for durability or even sent home for extra practice. There is a student and teacher card for assessing student's progress on a specific skill after sufficient practice with the student cards. I have included three different versions for the assessment materials to eliminate memorization. Then, there is a data tracking sheet that can be used to present the student's data to a team, parents, or just to keep as documentation. There is also a student summary sheet incase you would like to keep multiple assessment scores on one convenient sheet.
Several different beginning reading foundational skills are included in this unit, such as: letter naming and sounds, word families, common short vowel words, two-letter consonant blends and digraphs, and high frequency words 1-75. If this unit is missing a specific skill you need to assess feel free to leave me a comment and I will do my best to revise it to help meet your needs.
I hope this unit helps your struggling readers include specific skills that they need assistance with and also provides you with a wonderful resources to use for the intervention team process.
