Description

Reading comprehension is a complex combination of reading strategies. It is complex to teach an even more complex to assess, but it is also vital to lay a solid comprehension base with primary students. This reading journal makes it simple!

In just 20 minutes a day, primary students will receive instruction in all of the reading strategies needed for full reading comprehension. Additionally, using the provided rubric, teachers will be able to assess comprehension during read aloud sessions and during independent reading.

In addition to step-by-step directions, this read aloud journal provides a year-long guide on what strategies to teach when, what purpose questions to use with each strategy and even suggests books to go with each strategy taught. This one-stop shop on reading comprehension will change your read aloud forever.
