There are also guided reading schedule templates that can be used to help plan out the focus for each guided reading group. There are reading assessment templates that can be used for individual students during guided reading time, or reading assessment time. The letters are intended to be sent home to parents to describe what the particular reading level looks like, and the characteristics of the reader at the level. The intended purpose is for parents to be able to help their child with reading each night, as well as to help parents choose books that can meet and support their child at the reading level they are at.
There is also a set of certificates that can be filled out by the teacher and sent home to parents along with the new reading level that the student is at. The purpose of the certificates is to celebrate the reading progress students are making, and to make parents aware of their child's progress.
