Reading Log Alternative: "Tower of Books" {An Independent Reading Challenge}

Replace that hum-drum reading log and Infuse new life into students’ independent reading, at school or at home, with the “Tower of Books” Challenge! Perfect for a summer reading challenge or an alternative to the stuck-in-a-rut reading log assignment. Printable and digital versions included!

The challenge is built on two core ideas: to encourage students to read some different genres of books and authors they may not try otherwise, and to give them a fresh and motivating way to keep track of their reading.

How does it work?

Students get a reading list with numerous genres and categories of books they must read to meet the challenge. For each book students read, they create a book cut-out from the printable files, fill in their book information, and begin forming their… Tower of Books!
